Hyderabad Commissioner Orders Crackdown on Unlicensed Shops
The mayor of a part of Hyderabad, called Malkajgiri, went to a neighborhood to check if shops had the right licences.
He told the city workers to make sure all licences were up to date and to take action against shops that didn't have them.
He also asked the city to plant trees in empty boxes in front of houses and to keep construction waste in proper plants.
Because it rains a lot, he told the emergency teams to be ready to help if there is flooding or fallen trees.
All of this is to keep the city clean, safe, and ready for the rainy season.
Commissioner T Vinay Krishna Reddy ordered a field inspection in Green Park Colony to verify trade licences of commercial establishments.
The inspection covered civil infrastructure, sanitation, greenery, construction waste management, and monsoon preparedness, with orders to renew expired licences and enforce strict action against unlicensed shops.
Commissioner directed the Urban Biodiversity Department to plant saplings in empty planter boxes and maintain them.
New construction projects must be linked to an authorised construction and demolition waste processing plant.
HYDRAA, Disaster Response Force, and MET teams were instructed to stay on alert for monsoon‑related emergencies such as waterlogging, fallen trees, and road obstructions.
