Mumbai Pod Taxi Project Passes 100-Piling Mark, Linking Key Hubs

Mumbai is building a new elevated transport system called a pod taxi project.

Construction has now passed 100 completed piles, which support the elevated structure.

The full route will be 8.85 kilometres long.

It will connect Kurla, Bandra and the Bandra-Kurla Complex.

The first part will have eight stations between Kurla and Bandra.

The pods will be battery-powered and will not need drivers.

Each pod can carry six people and travel up to 40 kilometres per hour.

Riders may choose their destination without stopping at every station.

The project is expected to give Mumbai commuters another way to connect with railway stations and metro lines.
