BJP Accuses AAP of Misinformation Over Delhi Laxmi Yojana
The BJP says that the AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj made false statements about a new program that gives money to women in Delhi.
The program, called the Delhi Laxmi Yojana, started on August 1 and will give eligible women ₹2,500 a month.
BJP leaders say they started the program quickly, while AAP promised it for many years but never delivered.
BJP also says that the program has rules about how long a woman must live in Delhi to get the money.
They want to show that they are doing the right thing for women in Delhi.
BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor accused AAP convenor Saurabh Bharadwaj of spreading misinformation about the Delhi Laxmi Yojana.
The Delhi Laxmi Yojana was launched recently and will provide ₹2,500 monthly to eligible women within three years.
BJP President Harsh Malhotra and General Secretary Yogita Singh welcomed the opening of the scheme’s application portal on August 1.
BJP contrasted its 17‑month implementation of the scheme with AAP’s decade‑long promises that were not fulfilled.
BJP highlighted that eligibility for Delhi social pension schemes, including the Laxmi Yojana, requires a minimum residence period, similar to Punjab’s Behan Beti Yojana.
