Thane Municipal Corporation Prepares for Elections
The Thane Municipal Corporation is getting ready for its upcoming elections on January 15.
They have started programs to teach people about voting and how important it is to take part.
The city is divided into 33 areas, and people will vote for 131 representatives.
There's even an option to vote 'None of the Above' if they don't like any candidate.
However, there was a problem with the principal of a school who didn't follow the rules for helping with the elections.
The city officials had to take legal action against the principal to make sure everything goes smoothly on election day.
Thane Municipal Corporation is conducting voter awareness programs to increase participation in the upcoming elections.
A case was filed against the principal of Rainbow International School for refusing election duty.
All candidates, including unopposed ones, will appear on EVMs until further guidance from the State Election Commission.
Voters must cast votes for all available seats in their ward, with the NOTA option available for each seat.
The election process for 131 corporator seats across 33 wards will be considered complete only after polling is finished for all designated seats in a ward.
