Mumbai Police Bust Fake Call Centre Over Franchise Fraud

Mumbai Police Bust Fake Call Centre Over Franchise Fraud

Police in Mumbai say they uncovered a fake call centre.

The centre allegedly called people and offered lifetime franchises for courier and shopping companies.

It reportedly promised that customers would earn large profits after investing money.

Police say 22 people paid a total of ₹14.83 lakh.

The customers allegedly received neither the franchises nor refunds.

Officers arrested or booked 19 people in connection with the case.

They seized phones, laptops, documents and other items during the raid.

Police are checking whether more people were cheated and examining the accused individuals’ financial transactions.
