Ujjain Tense After Mosque Demolition Clash, Police Deploy 2,500

Officials in Ujjain wanted to remove a small part of the Shahi Masjid for a road-widening project.

Some people protested the plan.

Police said stones were thrown at them during the demolition work.

Six policemen were injured and received medical treatment.

Police used tear gas and a cane charge to control the crowd.

Ten people were booked, including five social media influencers.

Police said the influencers spread misinformation and disturbed the peace.

Around 2,500 police officers were sent to the area to prevent more trouble.
