India Targets 500 GW Non-Fossil Fuel Capacity by 2030
India wants to have 500 GW of power from non-fossil fuels like solar and wind by 2030.
Right now, they have 260 GW.
The government says they can add 240 GW more, with most of it coming from solar power.
Wind energy and nuclear power will also help.
If big data centers use more clean energy, India might even exceed its goal.
This is important because it helps the environment by using less dirty energy.
India aims to reach 500 GW of non-fossil fuel power capacity by 2030, up from the current 260 GW.
Solar power will contribute the most, with an expected 160 GW of capacity.
Wind energy is expected to add around 30 GW, and nuclear power around 8-10 GW.
The goal is achievable and may even be exceeded if data centers and industries shift to cleaner energy.
The increase in electricity demand from data centers and decarbonization efforts in industries will support this target.
