SBI Joins $100 Billion Market Cap Club After Record High on Strong Q2 Results
India's largest bank, SBI, just reached a big financial milestone!
Its stock price went up so much that the total value of all its shares is now worth over $100 billion, making it one of the biggest companies in India.
This happened because the bank shared its good news about how much money it made in the last three months, and it did even better than expected.
The bank also made money by selling some of its shares in another bank called Yes Bank.
Even though some of its profits went down a little, the bank's loans are growing, and fewer people are having trouble paying them back.
Because of this good performance, stock market experts have given SBI's stock higher price goals for the future, and many people are still choosing to buy its shares.
SBI's share price reached a new all-time high of ₹971.15 on Thursday, November 6, 2025, marking its entry into the $100 billion market capitalization club.
SBI reported a 10% year-on-year increase in net profit for Q2 FY26, reaching ₹20,159.67 crore, partly boosted by a significant gain from divesting its Yes Bank stake.
Despite a 6.8% year-on-year fall in pre-provision operating profit, SBI's asset quality improved, with gross and net NPA ratios declining sequentially.
Analysts from Emkay Global, Axis Securities, and Motilal Oswal have raised their target prices for SBI shares, citing strong Q2 performance and positive future outlook.
SBI's total business crossed the ₹100 lakh crore mark, with deposits exceeding ₹55.9 lakh crore and advances at ₹44.2 lakh crore.
