CBI files new case against ED officer and brother
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has started a new case against two brothers, Vishal Deep and Vikas Deep.
Vishal is a former officer in the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and Vikas is a manager at Punjab National Bank.
They are accused of having assets worth Rs 93.24 lakh that are much more than what they should have based on their income.
This case was started on Tuesday, about a month after the Supreme Court allowed Vishal Deep to be released on bail.
Earlier, Vishal was arrested by the CBI for allegedly taking bribes and by the Panchkula police for extortion.
The new case covers the period from March 1 to December 31, 2024.
The CBI found that the brothers' assets grew much faster than their income, and they also recovered a lot of cash from them.
The CBI is still investigating and may look into the role of family members.
