Autonomous Body Service Now Counts for Central Gratuity
If you work for the government, when you retire you get a gratuity, which is a payment.
Now, if you used to work for a government-related, but not directly government-run, organization, that time might count too.
The government said they will count the time you worked in those organizations toward your gratuity if you move to the central government and quit your old job properly.
This is because the government wants to ensure employees don't lose out on their benefits when they move from these kinds of jobs to government jobs.
A group that represents employees is happy about this new clarification because it clears up any confusion and makes sure everyone knows the rules.
Service in autonomous bodies can now count toward central government gratuity.
The DoPPW issued rules for gratuity under the National Pension System in 2021.
Rules aren't automatically applied to autonomous body employees.
Employees must resign with permission to transfer service credit.
Federation welcomed the government's decision to clarify the rules.
