Gujarat to Feature Life-Size Harappan Town
In Gujarat, near the ancient city of Lothal, a big project is being built to recreate parts of the Harappan town.
This project is called the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) and will have museums, markets, dockyards, and other places from the Harappan time.
The idea is to let people walk through these places to understand how advanced the Harappan settlements were.
The complex will also have a huge maritime museum, which will be the largest in the world.
It will show artefacts and tell stories about India's long history of seafaring.
The project is made to be fun and educational, with lots of interactive exhibits.
Many countries are helping with this project, and more phases will be added in the future.
A life-size recreation of Harappan streets, dockyards, markets, and civic spaces is being built near Lothal, Gujarat.
The project is part of the Rs 4,000-crore National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC), with the first phase costing Rs 775 crore.
The complex will include six museum galleries, a jetty walkway, and maritime artefacts from ancient to modern times.
The centrepiece is an 80m x 80m living-history recreation of Lothal town, allowing visitors to experience Harappan life immersively.
The project aims to reconnect contemporary audiences with the sophistication and global outlook of the Indus Valley Civilisation.
