Citizens Clean Up Polluted HLC Canal in Anantapur

Many people came together to clean a dirty canal in a city called Anantapur.

The canal is called the Tungabhadra HLC Canal, and it is an important water channel that passes through the city.

It had lots of plastic and garbage in it, which made people worried about pollution and health.

Around 150 citizens helped with the clean-up.

They removed nearly 5,000 kilograms of waste, which filled about six tractor loads.

The event was called 'Clean Drive for a Clean and Green Ananthapur'.

It was organised by groups like Discover Ananthapuram, Rotary Club of Anantapur and SR Defence Academy.

The city's health officer and his team also joined in.

Together, citizens and city officials showed how teamwork can keep a city clean.

The organisers said they will hold similar clean-up drives every week in different places.
