India Aims to Cut Fossil Fuel Use with Bioenergy
India is working on using more clean energy to help with air pollution and save money on fuel.
The government wants to replace half of the fossil fuels (like gasoline) with bioenergy (like ethanol) in the next five years.
Because of pollution, the country spends a lot of money each year on fossil fuel imports.
India is also using other alternative fuels like biodiesel and hydrogen.
The auto industry is important for jobs and exports, and innovation in cleaner fuels is expected to grow.
India aims to replace 50% of fossil fuel use with bioenergy in five years.
The transport sector contributes to 40% of India's air pollution.
India spends approximately Rs 22 lakh crore annually on fossil fuel imports.
Alternative fuels like ethanol, biodiesel, and hydrogen are being adopted.
The auto sector employs 4.5 crore people and exports Rs 3 lakh crore.
