Karnataka CM Urges Centre to Fund 'Guarantee Model' as National Template
The Chief Minister of Karnataka is asking the central government for more money and recognition for the state's special programs, called 'Guarantee Schemes'.
These programs help people by giving them free electricity, money for women, extra rice, money for unemployed young people, and free bus rides for women.
He believes these programs help everyone, especially the poor and women, and are a better way to help the economy than just hoping money trickles down from the top.
He wants other states to use Karnataka's ideas too.
He mentioned that the state's money situation is good, and they have given out a lot of help through these schemes.
He feels that his plan is working well to help people and make the state grow, and that people who criticize it are just spreading negativity.
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah is advocating for national recognition and increased fiscal support from the Centre for the state's 'Guarantee Model' of inclusive development.
He presented the five guarantee schemes (free power, cash transfer to women, rice, unemployment allowance, free bus travel) as a successful alternative to the 'trickle-down theory'.
Over Rs 96,000 crore has been spent on these schemes, with a significant portion of the 2025-26 budget allocated to them, benefiting millions of residents.
Siddaramaiah highlighted Karnataka's first-place ranking in per capita income growth, attributing it to the inclusive growth driven by the guarantee schemes.
The CM urged the Union government to provide a rightful share of revenues to empower states and foster innovation in people-centric development, while dismissing opposition criticism as misinformation.
