India-EU FTA to Boost Trade and Predictability
India and the European Union are talking about making a big trade deal called a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
This deal is expected to make trade between them more stable and predictable, especially in a world where trade is uncertain.
The Swedish Ambassador to India, Jan Thesleff, thinks this deal will be a game-changer.
It will help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) a lot, as they will find it easier to do business in each other's countries.
Sweden wants to double its companies, trade, investments, student exchanges, and scientific projects in India over the next five years.
The two sides are working hard to finish the deal early next year.
Right now, India and Sweden trade about $7 billion worth of goods, and Sweden has invested about $2.5 billion in India.
India-EU FTA aims to bring predictability and stability to trade in a turbulent global situation.
