Congress Calls Opposition Meeting Amid Tensions
The Congress party has called a meeting for all Opposition leaders on Monday morning.
This meeting is to talk about how the Opposition parties will work together in Parliament.
Some leaders want to call it just an 'Opposition meeting' instead of an 'INDIA bloc meeting'.
Meanwhile, the Parliament has changed the security agency that gives passes to people.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is no longer in charge of giving passes; instead, the Parliament Security Service (PSS) will do this job.
The CISF will still be responsible for the overall security of the Parliament.
This change happened because some former MPs had trouble getting passes from the CISF.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has called a meeting of Opposition leaders on Monday, July 20, at 10 am in his chamber.
Some Opposition leaders prefer the meeting to be called an 'Opposition meeting' rather than an 'INDIA bloc meeting'.
The Parliament Security Service (PSS) has replaced the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) for issuing passes to former MPs, officials, visitors, and media personnel.
The decision to revert to PSS for pass issuance was made on Thursday, following complaints about the CISF's pass issuance process.
The CISF will continue to handle the overall security of the Parliament premises.
