Mohali MLA lays foundation for 4 libraries
Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh started building four new libraries in different areas of Mohali.
These libraries will cost about Rs 1.49 crore in total and should be ready in about three to four months.
Each library will have a big hall and places to read books, magazines, and newspapers.
The MLA said this is part of the Punjab government's plan to help people, especially students, by giving them good places to study.
The government is also giving other benefits like cheaper land prices and free electricity.
However, a local councillor, Harjit Singh Bholu, was upset because he wasn't invited to the event, even though two of the libraries are in his area.
He said this was not fair and ignored the democratic process.
Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh laid foundation stones for four libraries in Sectors 77, 78, 79, and 80.
The libraries will cost Rs 1.49 crore in total, with Rs 35 lakh allocated for each library.
The project aims to promote reading culture and provide modern study facilities for residents, especially students and youth.
The libraries are expected to be completed within three to four months and will include large halls and essential facilities.
Municipal Councillor Harjit Singh Bholu expressed resentment over not being invited to the foundation stone-laying ceremony, alleging undermining of democratic norms.
