Delhi High Court Bans AI Deepfake Movie
Akira Nandan, the son of a famous actor and politician, went to a big court in Delhi.
He was upset because a movie was made using computers to copy his face, voice, and how he acts.
He said this was not right and hurt his privacy.
The court agreed and said the movie should not be shown.
They also told big companies like Facebook and YouTube to remove the movie and any related content.
The court said using computers to copy someone without their permission is like stealing and can hurt their reputation.
The court will talk about this again on February 5.
Akira Nandan filed a petition in Delhi High Court against an AI-generated film that exploited his name, personality, and likeness without authorization.
The court restrained the circulation and broadcast of the film, ordering the immediate takedown of the online content across platforms.
The court also restrained the defendants from further exploiting Akira's persona through AI or deepfake technologies.
Meta Platforms was directed to inform the user of the infringing URLs and take down the content if the user fails to do so within 72 hours.
The matter has been posted for further proceedings on February 5.
