Foreign Universities to Establish Campuses in India
Several top universities from around the world are opening campuses in India.
This means Indian students can study for degrees from these universities without leaving the country.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has approved these universities, including ones from the USA, UK, Australia, and Italy.
Students will save money and have a broader range of courses and teaching styles to choose from, while still getting a globally recognized education.
Five foreign universities will establish campuses in India under UGC regulations.
These universities include the Illinois Institute of Technology, University of Liverpool, Victoria University, Western Sydney University, and Istituto Europeo di Design.
The campuses are expected to open between 2026 and 2027.
The University of Southampton is the first foreign university to receive UGC approval and will open its campus in August 2025.
