Hindalco Expands Aluminium Operations in Odisha
Hindalco Industries, a big company in the Aditya Birla Group, has opened a new factory in Odisha, India.
This is India’s first factory to make special aluminium products called Flat Rolled Products (FRP).
The factory cost ₹26,996 crore to build and will give jobs to 5,012 people.
The Odisha Chief Minister, Mohan Majhi, was there to open the factory.
He said this is part of a bigger plan to make Odisha a place where many new factories are built, creating lots of jobs.
The Indian government wants more things to be made locally, and this new factory helps with that goal.
The factory will make products used in electric cars and clean energy, which are important for the future.
Hindalco Industries inaugurated India’s first Flat Rolled Products (FRP) aluminium unit in Odisha with an investment of ₹26,996 crore.
The project is expected to generate employment for 5,012 people and strengthen downstream manufacturing in the region.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi emphasized the state's rapid industrialization and job creation, with a focus on western Odisha.
The investment is part of a larger ₹55,000 crore capital expenditure plan across India, aimed at supporting local manufacturing and clean energy components.
The inauguration was attended by senior government officials and Hindalco Industries authorities, highlighting the government's commitment to employment-led industrialization.
