Oman Sets New Citizenship Application Fee
Oman has decided to set a fixed price for people who want to become Omani citizens.
Now, it costs 600 Omani Rials to apply for citizenship.
This fee also applies to foreign women married to Omani men, widows, divorced spouses, and minor children of Omani women.
If someone wants to give up their Omani citizenship, they have to pay 200 Omani Rials.
These new rules started on January 4, 2026.
The government says this change is to make the process clearer and more consistent, but the rules for who can get citizenship have not changed.
Oman has set a fixed fee of OMR 600 for citizenship applications.
The same fee applies to foreign women married to Omani nationals, widows, divorced spouses, and minor children of Omani women.
A separate fee of OMR 200 is introduced for withdrawing or relinquishing Omani nationality.
The new fee structure took effect on January 4, 2026.
The changes aim to standardize and bring transparency to nationality services without altering eligibility conditions.
