Madhya Pradesh Intensifies Crackdown After Sagar Liquor Tragedy

After a spurious liquor tragedy in Sagar, officials in Madhya Pradesh began checking illegal liquor-making sites more closely.

Teams from the Excise, Police and Revenue departments conducted raids in Khandwa.

They searched places in Jainabad, Balbad Tekri and Ahukhana.

The teams found raw country-made liquor and a large amount of mahua wash.

Mahua wash is a material that can be used to make liquor.

Officials destroyed much of the wash at the raid sites.

They also registered 12 cases under the state Excise Act.

Authorities asked residents to report illegal liquor-making or selling.
