EPFO Overhauls PF Transfer Process for Employees
Moving to a new job used to mean a lot of paperwork and waiting to transfer your PF money.
Now, the EPFO has made it much easier!
When you get a new job, your new employer will tell the EPFO you've started, and your old PF money will automatically start moving to your new account.
You won't need to fill out as many forms or wait for your old boss to approve it.
Your special PF number, called UAN, stays the same, and they've made sure you can't accidentally get more than one.
This new system uses your Aadhaar card to check things quickly, so your money can move in just a week or so, instead of months.
Also, your money will keep earning interest even while it's being moved, so you don't lose any earnings.
This makes sure your retirement savings grow without interruption.
EPFO has simplified and largely automated the PF account transfer process for employees changing jobs.
The transfer is now automatically initiated when a new employer updates the employee's joining date, using their existing UAN.
Employer intervention is largely removed, with claims now forwarded directly to EPFO, reducing delays.
Faster verification is achieved through Aadhaar-based e-Sign, e-KYC, and API integration, aiming for transfers in 7-10 days.
Interest will continue to accrue on PF funds until the actual transfer is complete.
