Chip Stocks Boost Japan's Nikkei to Record High
The Japanese stock market, specifically the Nikkei index, hit its highest point ever.
This happened because companies that make and sell computer chips did really well.
Even though not all stocks did great, the chip-making companies' success pushed the index up.
Key players included Advantest, Tokyo Electroni, Sumco, Disco, and Resonac Holdings.
If it wasn't for a public holiday the day before, it might have happened even sooner!
The Japanese Nikkei index reached an all-time high.
The index hit a record of 45,055.38.
Chip-makers and related stocks drove the gains.
Advantest, Tokyo Electroni, Sumco, Disco, and Resonac Holdings showed significant gains.
30 percent of the 1,600 stocks on the Tokyo exchange fell.
