NCSC Seeks Report on JU Teacher's Alleged Remarks
A student at Jadavpur University complained that a teacher told her to tear apart the Constitution and questioned the importance of studying B.R. Ambedkar.
The student said the university did nothing about her complaint.
The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) then asked the university to explain what they did about the complaint.
The university said they are looking into it but were delayed because of a vacation.
The NCSC might call the university to explain in person if they don't get a response soon.
NCSC seeks action-taken report from Jadavpur University within seven days regarding a student's complaint against a teacher.
Student alleged teacher told her to 'tear apart' the Constitution and questioned the importance of studying B.R. Ambedkar.
University set up an investigation committee on December 16, but no report has been submitted yet.
Student claimed the university treated her complaint with 'serious ignorance and inaction'.
University denied inaction, citing vacation as the reason for the delay in addressing the complaint.
