India Targets 500 GW Renewable Capacity by 2030

India wants to have 500 gigawatts of clean power by 2030.

Right now it has about 300 gigawatts, mostly from wind and solar.

The country added 50 gigawatts last year and plans to add more this year.

Clean power now makes up about 20% of all electricity, but it can sometimes be too much during the day and not enough at night.

To fix this, India needs more batteries and other storage.

It also wants to make its own clean‑energy machines instead of buying them from other countries.

Finally, India wants to use clean power for cars, buses, and factories, and to grow new clean fuels like green hydrogen.

The goal is to become a leader in clean energy and help other countries too.
