Infosys Q1 Profit Falls 8.6% Sequentially

Infosys, a major IT company, reported its financial results for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2027.

The company's revenue grew by 3.9% sequentially to ₹48,211 crore, but its net profit fell by 8.6% to ₹7,769 crore.

This decline was attributed to a one-time impact due to a client decision and macroeconomic factors.

Despite this, the company saw a 12.2% year-on-year increase in net profit and a 14% increase in revenue.

The operating margin improved slightly to 21.1%.

AI-related revenue accounted for 8.2% of the total revenue, indicating strong growth in this area.

The company also secured large deal wins worth $3.6 billion, with 61% being net new business.

Infosys plans to hire 20,000 freshers during the fiscal year, with around 4,000 already onboarded in the first quarter.

Analysts noted that while the quarter was operationally clean, the strategic outlook was mixed due to cautious enterprise spending.

The company's shares closed at ₹1,051.80, down slightly by 0.048%.
