Bhopal Engineer Suspended After Probe Finds Negligence in Electrocution Death
A streetlight pole outside DB Mall in Bhopal became electrically charged.
On September 27, BJP youth leader and lawyer Divyarishi Tiwari touched it and died.
Investigators said the pole may have carried electricity for about five days.
They also said the municipal electrical team had reportedly been told about the problem.
A committee created by the Bhopal collector investigated the incident.
It found assistant engineer Sumit Singh responsible for negligence.
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation suspended Singh and asked the state government to act against another engineer.
Police are separately investigating a case against an unidentified person.
