Kejriwal Demands Fuel Choice, Lower Prices Amid E20 Debate
Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, spoke at a big meeting in Delhi.
He said people should be able to pick either regular petrol or a mix called E20 at gas stations.
He also asked the government to lower petrol prices to less than ₹84 a litre.
Kejriwal said the government shouldn’t force people to use E20 if they don’t want it.
He worried that the mix might not be safe for older cars and that India imports a lot of ethanol from the United States.
The meeting had more than 700,000 people online and in person.
Kejriwal wants the government to talk openly about the policy and let people decide for themselves.
AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal called for consumers to choose between pure petrol and E20 at fuel stations.
He demanded petrol prices be cut to below ₹84 per litre and that E20 be priced lower than pure petrol.
Kejriwal criticized the Centre’s ethanol‑blending policy, saying motorists should not be forced to use E20 without alternatives.
He highlighted concerns over safety, vehicle compatibility, and the large volume of ethanol imports from the United States.
The town hall drew over 700,000 participants online and offline, with Kejriwal urging a transparent debate on the policy.
