Maharashtra Launches Maha R-PET Initiative Across 13 Locations
Maharashtra has started a program called Maha R-PET to tackle plastic pollution.
It began in Thane and is operating at 13 locations.
The program is supported by government bodies, a company, and non-governmental organizations.
The state says it did not directly spend money on the initiative.
Environment Minister Pankaja Munde asked people to recycle plastic bottles and use less plastic.
She said everyone has a role in protecting nature.
Officials want the program to reach more parts of Maharashtra.
Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages said the effort follows its earlier work in Mumbai.
The campaign aims to encourage cleaner and more sustainable habits.
