Abhijeet Dipke Slams Supreme Court's Remarks In Moitra Case

Abhijeet Dipke Slams Supreme Court's Remarks In Moitra Case

A famous politician named Mahua Moitra is being questioned by the police because of a hate speech case.

Mahua is a member of the Indian Parliament and belongs to a political group called the Trinamool Congress.

A court in Calcutta told her to go to the police station to talk about the case.

Her lawyer asked the highest court in India, the Supreme Court, if she could talk to the police online instead.

The lawyer said Mahua was worried about her safety because people had thrown eggs at her before.

The judges said that as a Member of Parliament she should not be scared of eggs, because India's freedom fighters faced much harder things, like being shot.

A political leader named Abhijeet Dipke thought the judges' words were unfair and asked on social media if the court now wants everyone to take bullets.

After the judges' comments, Mahua's lawyer decided to drop the request.

The case continues, and until October 5 she is protected from being arrested.
