Gavaskar Calls for Fines Over Repeated Test No-Balls

Gavaskar Calls for Fines Over Repeated Test No-Balls

Sunil Gavaskar says bowlers should be fined when they repeatedly bowl no-balls in Test cricket.

A no-ball happens when a bowler crosses the crease line while delivering the ball.

In one-day and T20 cricket, the batting team gets a free hit after many no-balls.

Test cricket does not use the same free-hit rule.

However, a no-ball can still be very costly if a batter is dismissed from it.

Ravindra Jadeja has bowled 85 no-balls since 2021, according to the article.

Saransh Jain also bowled several no-balls in a Test against Sri Lanka.

Gavaskar’s proposal is intended to encourage bowlers to avoid repeating the mistake.
