ECI Director Expresses Displeasure Over BLO App Mapping Issues in MP
Imagine a special project to make sure everyone's name is on the correct list for voting.
In some parts of India, the people in charge (called BLOs) are supposed to use a special app on their phones to mark where voters live.
A big boss from the Election Commission visited and wasn't happy because some of these marks weren't being made correctly on the app.
She told the BLOs they needed to fix this quickly and make sure all the information was up-to-date.
She also wanted the project to be a great example for the whole country.
Some workers said they are fine because they had good training, but the boss still wants to see better use of the app.
The goal is to have a very clean and accurate list of all voters.
ECI Director Subhra Saxena expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of mapping on the BLO app during a meeting in Bhopal.
BLOs were directed to promptly upload online data to the app.
The meeting reviewed preparations and progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign for voter lists.
Officials were instructed to conduct SIR work jointly in urban areas and strengthen help desks.
The ECI Director appreciated a BLO for mapping 76% of voters in a single day and emphasized transparency in the SIR process.
