Ranchi Hunger Strike Over Government Exam Fraud Reaches Seventh Day

A man named Devendra Nath Mahto is on a hunger strike in Ranchi, India.

A hunger strike means he is not eating food to protest something.

He is upset about cheating and fraud in government job exams.

These exams were run by two government bodies called JPSC and JSSC.

He is lying at a stadium called Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium.

He has not eaten for seven days and has only drunk water once.

He has chest pain, and doctors want him to go to the hospital, but he refuses.

Police are investigating and have already arrested 19 people.

Mr. Mahto is also remembering his mentor, Nirmal Mahto, on the anniversary of his death.

He says he will keep protesting until all his demands are met.
