Skydiver Dangles Mid-Air After Parachute Snags Plane
A skydiver was doing a stunt with a group of friends when something went wrong.
Their parachute got stuck on the back of the plane they jumped from.
This happened high up in the sky, and the skydiver was left hanging in the air.
They used a special knife to cut themselves free and then safely landed on the ground.
The plane also got damaged but the pilot was able to land it safely.
Everyone involved is okay, and this whole thing happened near a place called Cairns in Australia.
A skydiver's parachute snagged on the aircraft's tail during a stunt south of Cairns, leaving them dangling mid-air.
The incident occurred at 15,000 feet (4,600 metres) during a planned 16-way formation jump.
The skydiver used a hook knife to cut the parachute strings and freed themselves, then deployed their main chute and landed safely.
The aircraft's tail was substantially damaged, and the pilot issued a mayday distress call but safely landed the plane.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau emphasized the importance of carrying a hook knife for such emergencies.
