Stock Exchanges Open Sunday for Budget 2026
The stock exchanges in India, NSE and BSE, will open on Sunday, February 1, 2026, for a special trading session.
This is because the Finance Minister will present the Union Budget on that day.
Normally, the stock market is closed on Sundays, but this time it will be open from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM.
People can trade in stocks, futures and options, and commodities.
There will also be special sessions for block deals and call auctions.
However, the T+0 settlement, which is a process to finalize trades, will not happen on that day.
This is the first time since 2000 that the Union Budget is being presented on a Sunday.
The last time it happened on a Saturday was in 2025.
NSE and BSE will hold live trading sessions on Sunday, February 1, 2026, during the Union Budget presentation.
Trading hours will be from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM, with pre-open sessions starting at 9:00 AM.
All market segments, including equity, F&O, and commodity derivatives, will be active.
Special sessions for block deals and call auctions are scheduled, but T+0 settlement will not be conducted.
This is the first Sunday Budget presentation since 2000, with the last Saturday presentation in 2025.
