Andhra Pradesh Draft Electoral Roll Released After SIR
The government of Andhra Pradesh has finished a big project called the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR, which checks who can vote.
They asked almost all voters to fill out a form, and 3.71 crore people did.
They found that 15.22 lakh people had died, 22.30 lakh had moved away, and 7.37 lakh were listed twice.
Those names were removed from the list.
People who think a name was wrongly removed can say so between July 31 and August 30.
The final list will be published on October 3.
Draft electoral roll for Andhra Pradesh’s 175 assembly constituencies released after SIR.
3.71 crore voters submitted enumeration forms, 89.22% of the 4.16 crore total electors.
15.22 lakh deceased, 22.30 lakh permanently shifted or absent, and 7.37 lakh duplicate registrations were removed.
Claims and objections can be filed July 31–August 30; final roll to be published October 3.
SIR ran June 15–July 24, involving 28 district election officers, 175 registration officers, 4,650 BLO supervisors, and 46,397 booth level officers.
