Odisha Launches App for Fly Ash Tracking
The State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) in Odisha, with the help of IIT Bhubaneswar, has launched a new mobile app.
This app helps track and monitor the transportation of fly ash in real-time.
Fly ash is a byproduct of burning coal in power plants.
The app uses GPS and QR codes to make sure trucks carrying fly ash go to the right places.
It also takes pictures to confirm the trucks are empty after delivering the fly ash.
This helps prevent illegal dumping and protects the environment.
The app will first be used in four power plants and then expanded to others.
It helps the SPCB quickly respond to any problems and keep the environment safe.
The State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) of Odisha, in collaboration with IIT Bhubaneswar, launched a mobile app for real-time tracking of fly ash transportation.
The app was unveiled by outgoing Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja and will be initially implemented in four power plants.
Key features include GPS tracking, QR code verification, geo-fenced routes, and automatic trip closure with photo uploads.
The app aims to prevent illegal dumping of fly ash and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
The implementation will be extended to other power plants after the initial phase.
