Tiger Population Rise in Adilabad
Forest officials in Adilabad are excited because they think there might be more tigers in the Kawal Tiger Reserve.
They are doing a big count of tigers all over India, and they have found signs like footprints and animal droppings that show tigers are moving around.
Some tigers might have come from places in Maharashtra.
In other areas like Nizamabad and Kamareddy, they are also counting animals, but they haven't found any tigers there yet.
They did find leopards, though, which made some people in nearby villages worried.
Forest officials hope to confirm a rise in tiger population in Kawal Tiger Reserve and Adilabad district.
Preliminary assessments suggest the tiger population in Adilabad could reach around 15.
Tigers are believed to have migrated from Maharashtra's Tadoba-Andhari and Tippeshwar reserves.
Evidence of tiger movement includes pugmarks, scat, livestock kills, and camera trap sightings.
Leopard movement confirmed in Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts during the wildlife census.
