Azam Khan Acquitted in 2019 Speech Case, Action Ordered Against Probe Officer
A politician named Azam Khan was accused of giving a speech that might have upset people during an election in 2019.
He was found guilty by a lower court before, which meant he couldn't be a politician for a while.
But now, a higher court has said he's not guilty.
The judges couldn't find enough proof that he did anything wrong.
They also felt that the first court didn't look at the evidence properly.
The court even said that the police officer who investigated the case might have done something wrong and should be looked into.
Even though he's free from this charge, he still has other legal issues to deal with.
Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan has been acquitted by a Rampur court in a 2019 inflammatory speech case.
The court cited a lack of evidence and ordered action against the investigating officer.
The case stemmed from alleged remarks made during a 2019 Lok Sabha election rally against political opponents and the Election Commission.
A lower court had previously convicted Khan in October 2022, leading to his disqualification from the Assembly.
Despite this acquittal, Khan remains ineligible to contest elections due to other pending cases.
