TNAU Forecasts ₹65-70 Groundnut Prices During Upcoming Harvest Season

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University expects groundnut prices to be about ₹65-70 per kilogram during the next harvest.

The estimate was made by studying prices over the past 25 years.

Researchers examined the Tindivanam and Sevur regulated markets.

They also conducted a market survey.

The university wants farmers to consider these prices before deciding when and how much to sow.

Tamil Nadu is also an important groundnut-growing State.

Trade sources expect fewer groundnuts to reach markets because the monsoon has been unpredictable.
