India Targets $500 Billion Electronics Ecosystem Through ECMS Expansion

India wants to make many more electronic products and parts inside the country.

It hopes this industry will be worth $500 billion by 2030.

India also wants electronics exports to reach $150 billion.

Electronics production and exports have grown substantially since 2014–15.

The government created the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme to support component factories.

The scheme’s funding was increased to Rs 40,000 crore.

By August 2026, 106 projects had been approved in 15 states.

These projects are expected to create many jobs and help India rely less on imported components.
