UP's Rural Bus Network Expands Under Gram Parivahan Yojana
The Mukhyamantri Gram Parivahan Yojana is a scheme started by the government of Uttar Pradesh to provide bus services to rural areas.
In just four months, buses have started running in 56 districts.
The goal is to connect all villages with bus services so that people can easily travel to nearby towns and cities.
The scheme also helps create jobs for local people.
The buses can be diesel, CNG, or electric and must be less than 8 years old.
The government is working hard to make sure the scheme runs smoothly and reaches every village in the state.
The Mukhyamantri Gram Parivahan Yojana was approved in March 2026 and has connected 56 districts in under 4 months.
The scheme aims to provide bus services to rural areas where public transport was previously unavailable.
215 mini buses are currently operational, benefiting a large number of rural families.
The scheme also creates employment opportunities for rural youth as bus drivers and conductors.
The government is expanding the scheme in a phased manner to reach every village in Uttar Pradesh.
