Canadian Wildfire Smoke Spreads Across Atlantic
There are many wildfires in Canada that are causing a lot of smoke.
The smoke is so big that it can be seen from space and is spreading all the way across the Atlantic Ocean.
The smoke is making the air unhealthy to breathe in some places.
Many people have had to leave their homes because of the fires.
The government is working hard to put out the fires and keep people safe.
Astronaut Jessica Meir captured images of Canadian wildfire smoke spreading across the Atlantic Ocean.
Over 900 wildfires have burned roughly 2.9 million hectares in Canada this season.
Thick, hazardous smoke has triggered low air quality warnings in eastern Canada and parts of the US.
Around 1,800 residents have been evacuated from sparsely populated communities in northwestern Ontario.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford assured that the province will spare no expense in fighting the fires.
