Google to Allow Gmail Address Changes
Google is working on a new feature that will let Gmail users change their email address without losing any of their old emails or data.
Right now, if you want to change your Gmail address, you have to create a new account and lose everything from the old one.
With this new feature, you can switch to a new address, and your old one will still work as a secondary address.
This means you won't miss any emails sent to your old address.
Google is also putting some limits on how often you can change your address.
You can only change it once every 12 months, and you can do this up to three times in total.
This feature is not available yet, but a support page explaining how it will work has been spotted, suggesting it could be coming soon.
It might start in India first.
Google is developing a feature to allow Gmail users to change their email addresses without losing access to old emails and data.
The old Gmail address will become an alias, continuing to receive emails and function as a secondary address.
Users will be limited to changing their Gmail address once every 12 months, with a maximum of three changes per account.
The feature is primarily aimed at personal Gmail accounts, with restrictions for accounts managed by organizations.
The support page detailing this feature is currently only available in Hindi, suggesting India might be among the first regions to receive it.
