Juvenile Diabetes: Awareness, Challenges, and Solutions in India
Type 1 diabetes is when your body attacks the part that makes insulin, a substance needed to use sugar for energy.
This often happens to kids and teens.
India has many children with this problem.
Common signs are needing to pee a lot and being super thirsty.
To help, kids need insulin shots or pumps, check their sugar levels, eat healthy foods, and exercise.
But it can be tough because some people don't know about it, getting medicine and help can be hard, and it can be expensive.
We need to teach people about it, make sure everyone can get what they need, and give kids the support they deserve.
Type 1 diabetes (T1DM) is an autoimmune condition affecting children and adolescents.
India has the highest number of children with T1DM globally.
Early symptoms include excessive thirst and frequent urination.
Management involves insulin therapy, glucose monitoring, diet, and exercise.
Challenges include lack of awareness, limited access to care, and financial constraints.
