Delhi Court Acquits Man in Dowry Death Case

A Delhi court decided that Anil Kumar should not be convicted in his wife Anjali’s death case.

He was accused of harassing her over dowry, which means money or gifts demanded from her family.

The court said the accusations were too general and did not describe clear events.

It also said there was no proof of a dowry-related problem happening shortly before Anjali died.

Anjali’s mother and brother did not support the accusations against Kumar.

They said he had not demanded dowry or harassed her.

The court heard that Anjali had been under stress after their child died.

Because the prosecution could not prove the charges beyond reasonable doubt, Kumar was acquitted.
