Smartphone Exports from India Surge, US Shipments Double
India's smartphone exports are doing very well!
In August 2025, the amount of phones sent out of the country was 39% higher than the same time last year.
The US, a big buyer of these phones, saw a huge jump with exports more than doubling.
This growth is happening because new phone models are usually launched in late September and October, which causes export to slow down in August.
Smartphone exports from India increased by 39% in August 2025 compared to August 2024.
Total smartphone exports in August 2025 reached approximately $1.53 billion.
Exports to the United States more than doubled, increasing by 148% in August 2025.
Exports to the US in the first five months of FY26 reached $8.43 billion.
August and September are typically slower export months for smartphones.
