Liverpool Sack Set-Piece Coach After Poor Performance
Liverpool, a big soccer team, had a problem with set-pieces, which are like free kicks or corner kicks.
They let the other teams score too many goals from these set-pieces.
Their manager, Arne Slot, and their team captain, Virgil van Dijk, said they needed to do better.
So, the team decided to let go of their set-piece coach, Aaron Briggs, who had been with them since last year.
They thanked him for his work but said goodbye.
This happened after they won a game against Wolves, but they still think they need to improve.
Liverpool sacked set-piece coach Aaron Briggs due to poor performance in set-pieces.
The team conceded 12 goals from set-pieces, the most in the Premier League excluding penalties.
Manager Arne Slot and captain Virgil van Dijk publicly expressed concerns about set-piece defense.
Briggs joined Liverpool in July 2024 and was part of their Premier League title-winning team.
The club thanked Briggs for his contributions and wished him well.
