AP Offers 80% Subsidy on Paddy Seeds for Cyclone-Hit Farmers
In Andhra Pradesh, the government is helping farmers who lost their paddy crops because of a big storm called Cyclone Ditwah.
The government will give them paddy seeds at a big discount of 80%.
This means farmers will pay much less for the seeds they need to plant new crops.
The local leader, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, asked for this help, and the agriculture minister agreed.
The seeds will start being given to farmers from Tuesday afternoon.
Farmers in many areas, like Sarvepalli and Kovuru, will get these discounted seeds.
The leader thanked the chief minister and the agriculture minister for quickly helping the farmers.
The Andhra Pradesh government will provide paddy seeds at an 80% subsidy to farmers affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
Thousands of paddy nurseries and fields were damaged due to heavy rains caused by the cyclone.
Agriculture minister K. Atchannaidu approved the request for subsidy made by Sarvepalli MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy.
Distribution of subsidized seeds will begin from Tuesday afternoon, as directed by Collector Himanshu Shukla.
Farmers in Sarvepalli, Kovuru, Nellore Rural, Kavali, and other constituencies will receive the subsidized seeds.
